Bnai Zion Vegetarians

Mission Statement

Bnai Zion Vegetarians Mission Statement In the first chapter of Genesis, God said "Behold, I have given you every seedbearing plant on the face of the earth, and every tree that has seedbearing fruit. It shall be to you for food" (Genesis 1:29). Thus, from the very beginning of Jewish Holy Scriptures, Jews have a mandate and a divine vision to live a vegetarian lifestyle.

The historic and biblical homeland of the Jews, Israel, is once again the home of the Jewish people in modern times. Embracing our Jewish identity, exemplified by 'Eretz Yisrael' (the land of Israel) along with the vegetarian ethic articulated by God in our sacred texts, Bnai Zion (children of Zion) Vegetarians is a social and activist group that supports both Israel and vegetarian ideals.
