100TH ANNIVERSARY MISSION TO ISRAEL - ITINERARY (as of 3/17/2008)

Monday, June 23 – Departure for this memorable trip from either New York or Los Angeles for
non-stop overnight flight to Israel via El Al Israel Airlines.  Dinner, breakfast and inflight entertainment onboard.

Tuesday, June 24 – Afternoon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport and transfer to the picturesque Dan Carmel Hotel in Haifa.  Welcome dinner and overnight Dan Carmel Haifa.

Wednesday, June 25 - Start the day with an overview of the scenic Bahai Gardens.  Proceed to Ahava Village for Children & Youth, one of Bnai Zion’s projects, and learn how youth from troubled backgrounds are given a new chance at life.  Continue to Akko, then visit Israel’s high-tech center, Tefen for a tour and briefing, then continue to Rosh Hanikra Grotto (if time allows).  Dinner and program at hotel with guest speaker, Gen. Amram Mitzna, former Mayor of Haifa.  Overnight Dan Carmel Haifa.

Thursday, June 26 – Start the day with a visit to the Museum of the Clandestine Immigration called Af Al Pi ChenContinue to the impressive Bnai Zion Medical Center to hear about its important work and strategic position within the city.  Participate in a dedication of the new Pediatric Surgery Department in honor of Mel Parness, former Executive Vice President of Bnai Zion. Presentation by the Mayor of Haifa, Yona Yahav.  Lunch at the hospital.  Visit the  artists’ colony Ein Hod.  Continue to Jerusalem and check into the Inbal Hotel.  Dinner at the hotel, followed by a late-night visit to the

Old City for a special program you will not forget!  Overnight Inbal Jerusalem.

Friday, June 27 – Start the day with a visit to the Quittman Center, another focus of Bnai Zion efforts, and learn how disabled adults are mainstreamed into the community.  Experience the new Yad Vashem (the Museum of the Holocaust), then go to the colorful Machane Yehuda market where Jerusalemites shop before Shabbat.  Visit the Davidson Center and participate in a moving Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel.  Shabbat Dinner at the hotel with guest speaker to be advised.  Overnight Inbal Jerusalem.

Shabbat, June 28 – free day.  Enjoy a luxurious Shabbat lunch at the hotel.  Optional walking tour of the Old City and Jewish Quarter.  Overnight Inbal Jerusalem.  (Dinner on own)

Sunday, June 29 – Heading to the Judean desert, our first stop is Masada; climb it by cable car, then enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea, whose minerals are nature’s gift to your skin.  Stop at Qumran and visit the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.  Continue to Ma’aleh Adumim, supported by Bnai Zion.  Visit the Library of Peace, participate in the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Music Conservatory, see the community and hear from the mayor, Benny Kashriel, as well as former Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.*  Enjoy an unforgettable, unique desert dinner at Eretz Bereshit.  Return to the hotel.  Overnight Inbal Jerusalem.  

Monday June 30 - Visit the David Yellin College of Education, a Bnai Zion project, and hear special guest speaker Minister of Education Yuli Tamir.*  Stop at the Knesset for a tour, briefing and lunch with a guest speaker.  Continue to a boutique winery to sample some of Israel’s finest wines. Return to Jerusalem for free time for shopping.  Overnight Inbal Jerusalem.  (Dinner on own)

Tuesday, July 1 – Leave Jerusalem and visit the Armored Corps Museum at Latrun.  Proceed to the site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel on Rothschild Blvd. in Tel Aviv and participate in a commemorative signing of a declaration celebrating Bnai Zion’s 100th anniversary and drink a l’chaim.  Continue to Jaffa to explore its cobbled paths and galleries, then check into the Sheraton Moriah Hotel.  Enjoy an evening get-together and dinner with residents of Kfar Bnai Zion and hear several guest speakers.  Overnight Moriah Tel Aviv.

Wednesday, July 2 – Start the day with a visit to the Center for Spies and Intelligence at Glilot.
Continue to Bet Hatefusot (Museum of the Diaspora) and a rededication of the Bnai Zion Auditorium.  Hear guest speaker Natan Sharansky* at the museum.   Visit Bet Hapalmach.  The rest of the day will be free and you will have use of your hotel room until 6pm.  Farewell dinner at the hotel then transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your flight back to the States.
